ABOUT

I am a recent graduate from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in Communication Design. I enjoy all aspects of design, especially in print. I relish the challenge of conveying a message to the viewer using theoretical research to build meaning whilst producing a visual outcome that is aesthetically pleasing. I have a strong grasp of print processes and finishing methods. I also feel I have an extensive knowledge of paper through my continued use of screen-printing both large and tiny complex designs, and by frequent contact with paper merchants. I pride myself on the finishing and presentation of my work and strive to emphasise meaning to deliver an impact.

I have had studio experience through a 3 month internship with MWM Creative, I assisted with identity designs as well as being responsible for creating designs for Soho House and Mini Mend (please view work). I worked to strict deadlines, presented work to clients and attended client meetings. I have also worked freelance as the sole designer for the The Beauty Retreat, an upmarket beauty salon in Old Portsmouth, creating a full identity package, including website www.beautyretreat-portsmouth.co.uk.

I received two awards during my final year. My Portsmouth Vernacular map was awarded membership for entry to the ISTD student assessment scheme, and my Hearsay book was recognised as Best New Blood at the D&AD student exhibition.
